2011 Region IV/MS Rally Roundup

Region IV/Mississippi State Rally was held in Canton, MS Oct. 11-14, 2011. State Manager, Ralph Stogner and his rally committee had a great plan for each participant. Ralph was unable to attend the rally because of a motorcycle accident. Assistant State Manager, Paula Nolen and the committee took the plans and executed them to give us a great rally.

Forty-four rigs were on the ground with two members staying in a motel. Several others came in for a visit during the rally.

The City of Canton has a flea market twice a year and we had the privilege of attending it and they also fed us breakfast, as well as transportation to the flea market and back to the rally site. We saw a lot of different items you could purchase at the flea market.

They had two tours planned for the Nissan plant. Everyone enjoyed the tours, seeing the new models being built from sheet metal forming to a unit being driven off the assembly line. They described to us some of the various procedures from getting a job to having a bank in the plant and also a pharmacy.

Two nights, we had the opportunity to play bean bag baseball under the direction of Louis Schneller and two nights of excellent entertainment, great meals and a lot of fellowship with several games under the direction of Lynn Yeargain and Lawrence O’Berry, and several interesting seminars.

We had a very good rally with some nice weather and we hope to see you at our Region IV/Oklahoma State Rally in Shawnee, Oklahoma, September, 12-15, 2012.
